If you are reading this post I hope you know its not going to be short. Well now that we had found the "Perfect" agency for us it was time to get started and let me tell you I felt like we couldn't go fast enough. The first step was to attend there Adoption Prep 1 class, which we attended on September 10th (our anniversary, another good sign from God). The next step was that you had to have an intake interview before you could attend prep 2 & 3 classes. Well wouldn't you know they only have these classes once a month and the next one was the following Tuesday, only 2 business days to get in and have our interview. But God helped us find a way to get in on that Friday the 11th for our interview. This meant we could continue on to take adoption prep 2 class on September 15th and adoption prep 3 class on the 22nd. Yipee the classes were over. Little did we know that would be the easiest part.
At our intake interview we received a CD full of forms and paperwork that needed to be completed or provided to the agency. For the next 4 weeks I ran around like a mad woman trying to collect and complete all the paperwork. Mind you this was my job, due to the fact that my loving and wonderful husband was usually at work. Trust me when he wasn't working he was right thee with me. We have now finally completed all of paperwork and sent it in last week.
Obviously this journey was not as smooth as my blog has made it, but if I told the whole story we would be here forever.
Now that we have submitted all of our paperwork we have to wait for them to verify that they have received everything. Once they confirm receipt of everything we will receive our Social Worker. This is extremely exciting to me, because once we have been assigned our Social Worker it is usually no longer than approximately 2 1/2 months until we are able to start looking for children.
