Yippee!!!! We got the best voicemail on Friday, it was from our adoption agency, letting us know that we had blessfully been assigned our new social worker. We are so excited to have finally reached this stage after many mounds of paperwork and a few fingerprint and caregiver hurdles. Now that we have been assigned our social worker we now what the next couple months have to hold. Our new Social worker is V, which we are so happy to have because she has many successful years of experience and we have heard many wonderful things about her from different adoptive families.
On January 5th, 2010 - we have our appointments with our social worker to do our individual interviews. This is where we meet with V for her to better get to know us as individuals and a couple off paper. Even though the appointment is a couple weeks out, she assured us that this will not change the timframe in which she has to complete our Homestudy.
On January 11th, 2010 - We tenatively have an appointment set with V to come visit our home. This is when they will inspect the house to ensure it is in good living condition, child safe and clean to the state of California standards. Since we currently do not have any children I feel that we are very unprepared for this meeting. There is so much we need to do in order to prepare for this step in our journey, but I know that with such a large loving family that we have plenty of support to help us.
