I know it has only been a week since we submitted our homestudy, but I feel like it has been forever. So, I e-mailed our SW just to check in and see if any other children had passed her desk that might fit our criteria or if she had any updates on the 2 sets of siblings that we submitted our homestudy for. She actually received an e-mail from the sibling set of 3's (ages 7, 4 & 3) new SW stating that she had just been assigned to the childrens file. Therefor, she does not plan on trying to start homefinding for them for about another three weeks (This will be torture).
On the upside, we did receive a flyer from our SW today for the Central Valley Spring Picnic, on May 20th, YEAH!!! This event is supposed to be a very casual picnic at a park in Sacramento, where there will be sibling sets, children over 4, and other special needs children that are looking to be adopted. This event is to be all about the children and just to interact with all children in small groups. We will get to do different arts and crafts, games, etc with them. We are so excited to be able to attend an event like this and help these children get a wonderful day playing outside in the sun. After the children leave we will be able to tell our social worker if there were any children that we were interested in so she can submit our homestudy for us.
I know that it will probably be a month before we hear anything or get to go to this picnic, so please Pray that God will give us the strength and patience to make it through this time and to help it go by quickly.
